The Tough
Technology Stack

  1. 05

    TOUGH SHIELDTesting & assurance

Proves the system works — and keeps working when things go wrong.

  2. 04

    TOUGH SIGNALAI & decision support

Models put to work where the answer has to be checkable.

  3. 03

    TOUGH COREServices & integration

The Rust services that do the real work, and the connections between them.

  4. 02

    TOUGH DATAStorage & data models

Where your data lives, how it is structured, and how it moves.

  5. 01

    TOUGH EDGEDevices & hardware

Software that runs on the board, the sensor, and the controller.

Take one product, or take the whole stack. They are built to fit together.
WHY TEAMS
CALL US

Systems don’t fail where you’re watching.
They fail in the parts nobody owns.

A schema that made perfect sense at ten thousand rows. A retry loop quietly swallowing a real failure. A model that scores beautifully offline and embarrasses you in front of a user. We work in Rust, databases, firmware, and applied AI — and we go looking for the parts that give way under load, under scrutiny, or under a deadline.

Who you’d be working with
01 / TECHNICAL DISCIPLINES

Five disciplines.
One standard.

Read the capabilities brief
02 / THE WAY WE WORK

We’d rather argue
about the design
than debug it at 3 a.m.

Inside our approach
CONSTRAINT / DECISION / EVIDENCETC / METHOD
01

Find the real constraint.

The deadline, the legacy system nobody wants to touch, the requirement that isn’t written down. One constraint usually decides everything else. We find it first.

02

Put the tradeoff in writing.

Two or three workable designs, what each one costs you later, and which one we’d pick. You should be able to argue with us using our own notes.

03

Ship it and hand it over.

Working software, tests pointed at the risky behavior, and a handoff that leaves your team able to change the thing without calling us.

03 / WORKING TOGETHER

A small team.
No layers between you
and the engineer.

For agencies scoping a technical need. For primes filling a real gap in a delivery team. For organizations that would rather have three engineers who understand the problem than thirty who are learning it on your budget.

Herndon, Virginia. Open to project work, consulting engagements, and subcontracts.

Send the messy version. The half-formed problem, the diagram you’re embarrassed by, the deadline you’re worried about. That’s the useful first email.
